A journeyman musician with a troubadour’s soul, Dave Desmelik is a veteran singer, songwriter and instrumentalist based in Brevard, North Carolina, USA. A native of the American south, Desmelik is a natural born storyteller with an ear to the heartbeat of the everyday world and its flawed people.

Desmelik has played large festivals and tiny dive bars, opened for and shared the stage with notable artists like Drivin'N'Cryin’, Tony Furtado, Jayhawks, and more. His albums have placed on the Euro Americana Chart, Roots Music Report, and more, and have been reviewed in many US and European publications and websites. He’s toured extensively across the US and abroad.

Music and songs are continually and influence on all of us. Whether it be a popular classic or an obscure cover or even a tune from a friend. Desmelik is a seasoned veteran of songwriting, performing, and recording and has made many songwriting friends throughout the years of his long career. Many of these songwriters have written incredibly heartfelt, powerful, thoughtful, inspiring and beautiful songs. Songs that have personally moved him. Dave is honored and humbled to share this collection of songs that he is covering in his own way.

"Among Friends" is Dave’s 19th full length independent release. Every tune that he is covering on this album, he is doing so with the utmost respect and intention of serving the song and songwriter. Dave Desmelik’s "Among Friends" album includes Dave’s versions of songs written by Bow Thayer, Jimmy Davidson, Steve Mayone, David Philips, Nolan McKelvey, Betsy Franck, Laura Blackley, Jay Brown, Aaron Woody Wood, and an alternate rendition of one of Dave’s songs, "Tear It Down", from "Afterthoughts", 2003, as it was originally written.
