Summer Magic 1985

Come on the run with us, as we revisit the Grateful Dead's groove starting to click again during their high octane '20 Years So Far' anniversary tour. "Summer Magic 1985" is comprised of 7 previously unreleased concerts, all 3 official 20th anniversary shows at the Greek, Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Hershey Park Stadium, and Merriweather, that find the band recapturing their unique spiritual fusion of communal energy, musical improvisation, and psychedelic style.

This untamable synergy shines through countless somewhat rare and stellar moments, such as “Midnight Hour”, “Dupree’s Diamond Blues”, a 1st set “Crazy Fingers”, “Supplication”, “Crypticals”, “Down In The Bottom”, “I Ain’t Superstitious”, “Keep On Growing", and through not 1, not 2, but 3 double encores. It was a hot summer, indeed!

Arriving September 18th, 2026, "Summer Magic 1985" is individually numbered to 10 000 copies and exclusive to dead.net. It was recorded by Dan Healy and has been mastered by Grammy award winning engineer David Glasser at Airshow Mastering, with new essays by Nicholas G Meriweather And David Lemieux, art by Marcos Alvarado and design by Pablo Valdez and Steve Vance.
