In 2017, in the heart of Teramo, the hometown of Ivan Graziani, Eileen Rose and The Legendary Rich Gilbert enchanted hundreds of people, including the Graziani family, performing an extraordinary version of this classic at the Premio Pigro.

Eileen, working with longtime friend and collaborator Andrea Parodi, translated this revered Italian classic into English with a unique narrative twist, the song is reimagined from the perspective of 'the blonde lady' years later. Now an older woman with silver hair, her locks turn blonde again in the vivid memories of her colonial villa among the blooming cherry trees. She reflects on the love and excitement of her youth and what may have become of the young man with whom she shared a poignant, passionate, but inherently temporary affair.

The track is built on an incredibly powerful melody, both sexy and irresistibly catchy. For the recordings, legendary tones were chosen, the marvelous Wandrè guitars were played, the very same iconic instruments used by Lucio Corsi, who is widely considered the musical heir to Ivan Graziani. The contrast between the melancholy, reflective verse and a sweeping, epic chorus is pure Italian musical drama in its greatest and most modern form.
