"Det här är americana, folkmusik och country som de spelat på de senare utgåvorna under senaste åren. Fin melodisk musik och texterna är just så allmänna att det blir att greppa berättelserna som utgör plattans fundament. Återigen slår det gnistor om kompositionerna. Jim Patton och Sherry Brokus skapar något starkt som jag kan hålla mig till, som lyssnare av deras musikaliska tonkonst."

- Micheles Kindh / Blaskan -

"Jim Patton & Sherry Brokus' new album, 'Two True Loves' on Berkalin Records, explores the decisions, desires, and shared instincts that govern most individuals while pursuing a pathway through life. Produced once again by Ron Flynt at Jumping Dog Studios, Austin, TX, and mastered by Jerry Tubb at Terra Nova Mastering."

- Kenneth Bremer / Blue Desert -

"Jim Patton and Sherry Bokus is a couple who decided to walk a creative path opened up by their love of music, shunning the safer option for a more comfortable existence that pursuing regular careers would have offered. However, the memories earned and the joy that the creative process brings is more than sufficient compensation for the risks taken. This album is another worthy addition to their ongoing dreams of self sufficiency and creative freedom."

- Paul McGee / Lonesome Highway -

"Some tunes here would be genuine Nashville country hits, like 'Why Did You Leave Me For Him?'. This has George Jones written all over it. At first listen, some would think this was just a backwoods group singing for themselves. But a closer listen reveals some real dynamics to their showcase, which is evident on 'That Cup Of Coffee We Never Had', 'Caught In The Headlights' and the wonderful 'Hard Times'. All excellent!"

- John Apice / Americana Highways -

"Jim Patton and his wife, and musical collaborator, Sherry Brokus have a knack for taking everyday circumstance and expanding those scenarios into stories that resonate with deeper meanings and life lessons that can be relatable to all. The duo’s new album,'Two True Loves', explores the decisions, desires, and shared instincts that govern most individuals while pursuing a pathway through life."

- Dean Nardi / Americana UK -

"This is an enjoyable and eminently listenable set, and the closing ' One More Song', something of a mission statement, for the low profile musician and their life, is the standut track that will resonate with both music fans and players alike."

- Jeremy Searle / Rock'N'Reel Magazine -

"'Two True Loves' sounds like a love story between Jim Patton and Sherry Brokus, the two folkies from Austin. In 2019 I got to know them musically with a collection, and most recently, the album 'Harbortowne' impressed me very much, and that was in 2024. Now I have the new release 'Two True Loves', and basically not much has changed in the last few years. So the 2 are still a firm bench when it comes to music with a warm hearted atmosphere, all on the basis of folk rock with one or detours into country music. The sound is mainly characterized by acoustic instruments, especially supported by a fiddle and a mandolin."

- Wolfgang Giese / Musik An Sich -

"Their albums certainly aren't doing any numbers on streaming platforms, but that's not something Jim Patton and Sherry Brokus rely on at all. Although, I think with a little social media marketing, they could reach quite a few fans of americana and roots music worldwide. But that's not the goal. It's just having fun in the studio with their music friends, performing here and there, and they're satisfied. Not bad at all, 'Two True Loves' is an excellent album, and if you have the time, well worth a listen."

- William van Voorbergen / Orange Flag Music -

"In short, this album is varied and a lot of fun, so give it a listen. If you haven't already, it's time to take this duo to your heart. This record once again confirms Jim Patton's talents as a songwriter. As always, top notch americana."

-Fred Schmale / Real Roots Café -

"“The songwriting well of Jim Patton is still not empty. The Austin, Texas, based singer songwriter composed another 14 tracks for the latest album 'Two True Loves'. These folk, country and rock songs are as usual performed together with his wife Sherry Brokus and again have Ron Flynt helmed as its producer. Their famous high quality work also remains guaranteed throughout all these tracks!“

- Valére Sampermans / Rootstime -

"After endless wanderings, this musical couple ended up in Austin. 'The Hard Part Of Flying' was their 1st release on Berkalin Records. Recently, new material has been released every other year. Pieces like 'Going The Distance', 'Big Red Gibson', and 'Harbortowne' oscillate between folky and more rock tinged passages, invariably created in producer and multi-instrumentalist Ron Flynt's Jumping Dog Studio. Scrappy Jud Newcomb contributes inspired string weaving, and John Chipman, sits in at the drums."

- Cis van Looy / Written In Music -

"'Two True Loves', now that's a title that suits Jim Patton and Sherry Brokus well. Indeed, before this new record, the couple had already released 8 albums (including a compilation), to which we must add 2 albums released under the name Edge City, and all this in 25 years. They are therefore celebrating their musical silver anniversary on the excellent Berkalin label of their friend Brian Kalinec, which is a guarantee of quality."

- Sam Pierre / Du Côtè De Chez Sam -

"'Two True Loves' is the new album from life companions Jim Patton and Sherry Brokus. 14 new songs are here, and the same authorial, expressive, and conceptual approach, with poems that are personal, accessible, and life like, and collaborators who know how to guide what mr Jim Patton envisioned."

- Branimir Lokner / Time Machine Music -
