Broken Christmas Waltz

This summer, Sigvard & The Bonewhispers released their 2nd album, "Land Of The Midnight Sun", on HepTown Records. The album has been described as an emotional journey through darkness, light, and everything in between. Now they continue their journey into the winter darkness with a Christmas song from the same vulnerable landscape.

A naked trumpet played by Rasmus Bååth introduces the waltz that tells the story of a Christmas that so many can relate to, but so few talk about, the lonely one. A Christmas that did not turn out as promised. No Christmas gifts and no Christmas cards for the not so welcome Christmas guest.

The twang in their homemade americana, which they themselves call hippie noir, is built up as usual by Lars' various string instruments. Mats and Olof create the groove that Joppe's grainy, lamenting voice rests its narrative against, with Lars' brighter voice harmonising right behind it. Patrik Magnusson produced and mixed the song.

“A band that many more people should discover”, Christer B Jarlås from Rootsyland wrote about their latest album. Here's another chance to do just that!
