World class pianist, vocalist, entertainer and comedienne Judith Owen steadfastly continues to release singles featured on the forthcoming album “Both Things Are True”. This time Judith tackles Earth, Wind & Fire’s r'n'b dance floor smash “September”.

“I remember coming home from school and hearing 'September' for the first time, and literally feeling a million volts of joy. It’s happiness in a bottle, so for me re-imagining it meant turning it on it’s head, and making it a jazz infused torch song about the autumn of love. Remembering and yearning for that summer of youthful euphoria and the thrilling dance that fades with time and familiarity”.

Recorded live by John Fischbach with musical empaths, Leland Sklar, and Pedro Segundo, and joined for the first time by David Blenkhorn on guitar and the gifted Ashlin Parker on trumpet in New Orleans’s Esplanade Studios, the track oozes the sensuality and moodiness that’s absolutely inspired by this sultry city.

The hi-octane of the original is exchanged for new found emotional depth in lyrics that pack a heartfelt punch of poignant truth that all us have or will experience.

"September" is by songwriters Earth Wind & Fire members Al McKay and Maurice White together with Allee Willis. Allee Willis in particular was thrilled to hear that Judith was planning to record and release "September", however Allee sadly passed away late last year before hearing the final mix. Marice White passed a few years before that.

The upcoming 2021 album “Both Things Are True” features Judith originals “I Still Dream Of America” and “Second Hand Sexbot”.
