Let Me Try

"I first heard this in a thrift store in the High Desert. It sounded like a siren calling from a place way beyond the clothes racks and the fashion jewelry, a strangely familiar voice from very, very far away. Is this a woman whispering 'I’ll be your singer'. Or some Martian intruder flatly ignoring the unwritten rules of courtship here on earth? We will never know. What we do know is that there are few love songs out there that really address the ambiguity of love and need. Love and need are not the same. But they may be two sides of the same coin. And maybe that is what 'Let Me Try' is about?" ~ Georg Altziebler, Son Of The Velvet Rat

"Let Me Try" is an acoustic cover of MC5’s masterpiece. It's the last single, released November 5th, 2026, from Son Of The Velvet Rat & The Ghost & The Machine's forthcoming joint album "The Red Barn Sessions", to be released December 11th.
