Bryan Adams has announced a new studio album, "How’s It Goin’?", which the iconic singer songwriter will release tomorrow, November 6th, 2026. The theme of the entire record is Adams’ home country of Canada, as he explained in a statement :
“The idea was simply to make a record about Canada”, says Adams. “It started with writing the song for the documentary Canada’s Wild Eastern Edge and after doing so much research, I was inspired to start writing more songs about Canada. Musically it took me somewhere a little different too, which made the whole thing exciting”.
The latest song shared ahead of the record is the charged “Lake Ontario”, a bit of a reaction to ongoing narratives coming from the United States. Said Adams in a statement about the song to that effect :
“Empires and regimes, dictators and kings, they all come and go. Lake Ontario is forever. This is a song for all the sane people on both shores who know that the current madness will pass, and that Lake Ontario will always be Lake Ontario”.
“The Ballad of Terry Fox”, a song about an inspirational figure in Canadian history, is also available, and features in a new documentary film titled "Run, Terry, Run".
Among its tracks is “51st State”, a song Adams shared earlier this year and is particularly relevant lyrically given some of the headlines generated from the White House regarding making Canada the 51st state of the United States.
