"Iain Matthews : A People’s History" is an oral history of one of Britain's leading singer songwriters. An original member of folk rock pioneers Fairport Convention, Iain has carved out a singular career over nearly 60 years.

He topped the charts in 1970 as Matthews Southern Comfort with his cover of Joni Mitchell's "Woodstock", reached # 13 in the US with his recording of Terence Boylan's "Shake It" and has been a torchbearer for americana for 6 decades. His critically acclaimed albums include "If You Saw Thro' My Eyes", "In Search Of Amelia Earhart" (with Plainsong), "Journeys From Gospel Oak", and "Some Days You Eat The Bear".

Iain has lived in the UK and the US, but has called The Netherlands home for the past 20 years. "Iain Matthews : A People's History" tells the story of this much travelled minstrel through the words of over 100 fans, friends and collaborators.

Illustrated with over 100 photographs, "Iain Matthews : A People's History" will be released on October 24th, 2025.
